Charmane Echols, Ed.D.

Charmane Echols, Ed.D., graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School and attended Western Michigan University. She has worked for the past 30 years in the Kalamazoo Public Schools as a teacher, instructional specialist, and administrator.  In the Cultural Connection Program Dr. Echols worked with a dedicated team of teachers to create a teaching unit on the consequences of globalization in the role of literacy, student identity and oral traditions in the US Midwest and Senegal West Africa. Dr. Echols is the author of the curriculum box titled, Globalization and Oral Traditions.
